Jim Rohn was a world famous motivational speaker and personal development coach. He died in 2009 at the age of 79. He was worth $500,000,000.
When I met him, he told me you don’t have to worry about being great at a hundred things. He said it’s only a few things that make a huge difference. Not a hundred things…just a few things! Your health, your relationships, your prosperity, your connection to a higher power…a few things.
People excel at what’s Most Important to them.
What is the one Most Important Thing that would make the biggest impact on your life? Is it in line with your vision, purpose, and values?
Until you identify it, you’re left without a compass upon which to make decisions and choose direction.
As Alexander Hamilton said, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.”
Identifying it is only the first part of the process…
The second part of the process is Action! You can’t just sit around thinking about it and hoping for it. Now you have to take action for it to have the biggest impact on your life!
Jim would always say, “You have to make measurable progress in reasonable time.” I have found discipline and commitment are absolutely critical to sustain action, and just getting into action, even if everything isn’t perfect, will create the momentum you need to keep going!
